What is the D.R. of The Congo FERI Certificate?
(409/021 – 23rd March 1992)
The ports in Kinshasa and Matadi manage most of the imports, while ports in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Mombasa (Kenya) are often used for imports to eastern cities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to reduce on-carriage costs. Since ECTN has not yet been implemented in Kenya and Tanzania, importers will only need the D.R. Congo FERI certificate for their shipments.
A penalty fee of 20% of the freight cost will be imposed at the destination if the FERI certificate is not obtained.
