What is the Djibouti ECTN Certificate?
The Djibouti Ports and Free Zone Authority implemented the ECTN procedure for shipments heading to Djibouti ports on June 15, 2023. This certificate may also be referred to as CTN, BSC, or BESC.
Failure to provide the ECTN certificate could lead to severe penalties and high costs. Every imported load transported to Djibouti requires an ECTN certificate.
Shippers, exporters, or freight forwarders must obtain the ECTN from the port of loading, and the ECTN number must also be listed on the bill of lading.
