What is the Republic of the Congo ECTN Certificate?
The Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN), also known as the Bordereau de Suivi de Cargaison (BSC), is a mandatory document required for all shipments destined for the Republic of the Congo. Implemented in 2008 by the Republic of the Congo Customs Authorities, the ECTN serves to monitor and manage cargo entering the country, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and facilitating efficient clearance processes.
To avoid a penalty charge, the certificate must be validated within five days after the vessel’s departure. Before unloading the goods in the Republic of the Congo, the ECTN reference number, found on the validated document, must also be indicated on the bill of lading.
