What is the Somalia ECTN Certificate?
As of February 1, 2023, all shipments to Somalia require a CTN, also known as an ECTN, BSC, or BESC. Failing to provide this certificate will result in severe consequences and significant costs. The Somalia government mandates that every import, whether for commercial, business, diplomatic, or personal use, must include a CTN—Cargo Tracking Note. Starting April 29, 2023, all transactions involving commodities must include an ECTN Reference Number on the bill of lading.
Certificate Requirements
The following documents are required to obtain the Somalia ECTN certificate:
- Bill of Lading
- Commercial Invoice
- Freight Invoice
- Application Form (We can complete this form on your behalf)
To begin the certification process, send PDF versions of the required documents to info@ectnindia.com. Hard copies are not needed for CTN certification. Ensure that the documents you submit are final and do not require revisions, as penalties will apply for changes after validation.
